Bio

Born in Manchester, Natalia Senior-Brown began playing the violin at the age of 6 years old with Carolyn Matson at her primary school. At 9 years old, Natalia was accepted into Chetham’s School of Music where she studied the violin with David Vernon, Marie Ploemacher and Kristoff Dolatko, as well as theory and piano with Hazel Fanning, with whom she acquired her Grade 8 at the age of 16. She achieved Grade 5 Violin with distinction at the age of 11 and also performed the Bach Double Violin Concerto two years later, before deciding to switch to the viola at 14. At Chetham’s, she studied the viola with Graham Oppenheimer and was in Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra until her final year, in which she also led the viola section. She obtained her Grade 8 at 17, before also achieving her ABRSM Performance Diploma in 2014 with a distinction. In her final year of high school, Natalia was also part of the National Youth Orchestra, with whom she has performed in venues such as Leeds Town Hall, the Barbican and The Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms.

Natalia completed her Masters degree in 2019 under the tutelage of Susie Meszaros at the RNCM, where she also completed her Bachelors degree in 2018. During her studies there she was so fortunate as to complete her orchestral work experience with the BBC Philharmonic and win first prize in the RNCM Viola Prize competition.

Natalia is an avid orchestral, session and chamber music player. She has and continues to perform with orchestras such as the Chineke! Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Ignition Orchestra in renowned venues such as The Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall, and has travelled across the world as far as China, Australia and the US as part of her career so far.
She has also been so fortunate as to perform for and on The Brit Awards, Louis Vuitton Men’s F/W22 Show, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Latitude Festival, The Graham Norton Show, Sports Relief and work with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Jorja Smith, Bastille, Michael Bublé, Celeste, NAO, and many more.
